Trail king tires

What's the record of these Trail King tires the new rigs come with?

They are another popular inexpensive Chinese made tire that trailer manufacturers put on rigs. The sidewall numbers meet the ratings needed, but may be prone to the problems many of us have had with other Chinese made ST tires. I haven't heard anything in particular, good or bad, and as long as you baby them like I've babied mine, you might just make it to 5 years before they age out.

My trailer does not have many miles, but it does have quite a few months sitting on my concrete driveway at my house (since early 2006). I keep the tires covered, I ensure that when I am backing it up that I have straightened out the trailer so the tires are straight and not stressed. I also minimize hopping curbs, keeping under 65 mph, maintaining load and inflation ratings (even when it's sitting at the house) and other precautionary ways to treat the tires. They have now aged out (5.5 years) and as soon as I save up the dollars, they are getting swapped. I'll bet I get a problem as I tow the trailer for that last trip to the tire store to get these replaced. These Marathons were a replacement for the Chinese made Mission Tires which were horrible for many. So much so, Mission Tire is no more. I believe Trail King might be better, but I don't know its record with our heavier fifth wheels.

That's all I'd need to know.

They appear to be pretty new on the marketplace as a Google search for them finds nothing. It is safe to assume they are another cheap price-point Chinese manufactured ST tire and will have no better track record than their predecessors (Missions, Marathons, etc.). We will know more in a few months. They are a 3520 Lb. rated tire but Montana continues to de-rate the axles from 7K utilize them.

On Edit: The correct name on these tires is Trailer King and they have been around for a while. They appear to indeed be just a cheaper Marathon. Good luck with them.

Trail King seems to be a popular BICYCLE tire. Keystone gets all their wheels and tires from Tredit. They show a tire called Trailer King and it has the ability to allow Keystone to rate the axle @ 7K.

My guess is Keystone has found a less expensive tire than the Marathon and since they have a higher load rating will market them as a upgrade to a 7K axle instead of the 6,750 with a Marathon.

Just another example of off shore tires.

Yesterday I looked at a brand new (just delivered to the dealer on Thursday) 3610 and 3155. Both have the Trailer King tires and the sticker on the driver's side by the propane locker had the axles rated at 6750. I wasn't in the mood to crawl under the slides and examine the sidewall to record the specs but I will next time I stop by.

On Edit: The specs on the tires say they are rated for a maximum of 3520 lbs. This is enough for 7K axles but the sticker still says the axles are rated for 6750. G614 equipped Montana's have a sticker with full 7K rated axles so it isn't like they don't have the correct stickers available. Why then the derated 3750???
