Another sewer boom question

I trimmed off some of the flexible tubing to allow a full range swing around. Mine will hold 18 feet of heavy duty hose. I also added an extra gate valve at the hose connection to eliminate leaks. I find this setup very convenient.

On our 2009 3400, I just use the boom as a carrier for 10' of hose. I flush the hose after use so I always disconnect it to flush it. I haven't used the boom as intended. I connect a clear section to plumbing at the RV end. I also have a external valve at the RV end to keep dribbles from falling on my feet when I take off the travel cap to connect the clear section.

I like the idea of carrying sewer fittings next to the propane tank in a basket. I will have to look at what I may need.

I replaced the black sewer boom with a 4' tube from Camper World that has removable end caps. My 15' Rhino hose fits tight if I remove the twist on elbow cap first. I will use this for hose storage. I had continuous seepage that made removing the end cap a messy job so I added a twist on dump valve, and it works great. So now I have a conventional outlet with a dump valve and cap, and a 4' pipe for hose storage where the boom was. I used the same hardware as the boom but added an additional clamp at the front for more end support.
I did try the sewer boom with a 5' Rhino hooked up inside but did not like the dripping leaks. When I added the twist on dump valve it stuck out too far for the black bellow hose to fit etc. hence decided to replace the pipe with one long enough to hold my 15' Rhino. Will give this setup a try. No more leaks and I have storage for my Rhino15'.

Well, after a few trips I have decided the boom must go. I have remove it and am using a clear 45 degree adapter and a heavy duty 15' hose. That works best for me. I must admit though, the boom idea did appeal to me when we bought the Monty. I just didn't like playing with it at the last campground we stayed. I had to hold it in position with a bungee cord or it pulled the hose at a sharp angle. I might inspect it further and make some modifications.....or not. Whatever.............

If you trim off a little of the flexible black hose support the boom will rotate freely and you will not have that issue.
