Speed up old PC

I have a 4.5 year old tablet computer, which ran Windows XP tablet edition. I recently upgraded to Windows 8 and boy what a difference. It used to take 7 to 8 minutes to boot up, now with Windows 8 it boots up to 30 seconds. Windows 8 does take bit getting used to but speed is awesome.

I also replaced the hard drive with a solid-state drive, which for further increase the performance. My old PC now runs the same performances of a new PC you might buy today.

The upgrade price for Windows 8 is pretty cheap, the only drawback is you need to reload the software to get the best performance out of it. Recommend you use it replace all option on install and reload your software. Because it's an upgrade, and existing version of Windows has to be already on the computer for it to work.

Good to hear it worked for you. I got ride of your 8 yr. old computer with Windows XP and replaced it with a new laptop. The new speed is really nice.
