Bathroom fan switch?

My 3402RL has a vent with fan in the bathroom. The switch is on the fan frame on the ceiling.

I want a switch on the wall near the light switch.

Anyone done this? Any tips on fishing the wires??

I remember members who did this, often in conjunction with replacing the puny fan with something more powerful one. The quick and dirty way is to tap into the light in the ceiling for power for the fan. Then the switch controls both as one.

Depending on the construction of the wall of the existing switch you might be able to fish a new pair of wires using the existing light power wire. The wall will have to a be hollow one and the light needs to be convenient to the wall with the wire running down to the switch. Some exploration will be needed here.

Another option is to just use that flat wire cover stuff that mounts externally on the wall. After all, how many people are going to see it?

I did it on our 2001 and after being without it for the last 5 years with our new unit I just bought a double switch like what’s there now. Taking it out and install switch in place. Wiring can be done by taking fan garnish down. On mine I will pull the door trim off and loosen panel. Pull the ceiling trim and bow the wall panel. May have to drill a hole at the rafter area. Chase your wire to we’re it goes and then put everything back together. Wire the switch and fan It is well worth the aggravation. Just be very careful when pulling the trim. Use a small flat bar and wiggle it back and forth not up and down.

Thanks, I pulled the trim and it looks doable. Just have to find the switch.

Jim I got mine thru RV outlet on flea bay. They are like 12$ to your door in like 3 days.
