Ladder replacement

If you saw my post about glass replacement, this is part of the same mishap. I broke the bottom section off the ladder at the same time. Since it is only screwed on, I figure that I can replace it myself. My dealer quoted me a really high price for the ladder and I scoped one out on the TrekwoodRV website for $100 less.

In checking delivery, I was first told "Unfortunately, the leading ladder supplier to the RV industry, has recently changed hands, and Keystone has informed us, any ladders purchased now, will not ship until the end of January of next year. If part is till of interest to you, please let provide the last (8) of your vin, and we can begin processing your order."

I tried to confirm the price and got the response, "Unfortunately, we were told by Keystone this morning they are not accepting any orders for ladders, as their supplier is unable to keep up with demand on new production units. I am being told, they may be able to start ordering ladders again next spring."

Unless someone can offer another suggestion, I guess I'll try again in March or April. At my age, I try to stay off the roof as much as possible anyway.

Don't know if there are any salvage yards near you to use as a resource, but that would be my next move if I was you...or...enlist the help of a moc member that is near one and supply them with several pictures of what your ladder looks like. John

If you google Rv ladder you will find a number of sites that sell ladders and ladder parts. Maybe one of them can help.

Thanks to everyone, but no luck at any of these. I have to take the ladder off to replace the window, so I want to look closer at it. The lower rung is what is broken and it slides inside the upper portion of the ladder. The sizes look like it may be 1/2" EMT inside 3/4" EMT, but I'm not sure. Once I get the screws out, maybe I can tell. Since I retired from the electrical trade, I can get an electrician to bend it into what I need if it's 1/2" EMT.
