Hello To All Montana Owners, we are new here

Hello Everyone! My Name is Rich and I'm a retired navy submariner, my wife is Lynne and she is a traveling nurse. We bought our new 2005 3685FL monte in nov last year but this is the first time we had a chance to write. We sold our house in november last year and have been full timers since. We are currently in Yuma Az and looking to meet other full timers and new friends accross this great country of ours!

thanks
Lynne & Rich

Gee, a Montana must seem expansive in comparison to the limited space in a sub. Most of us are sizing down, but you are sizing up. Oh, I forget the new subs or spacious. I am from the "Run Silent, Run Deep" era.

It sounds like you are a well experienced hand at this RVing stuff and will be able to contribute to the annihilation of ignorance about RV issues. This is a great group of creative synergists and down right nice folk. Glad to have you aboard as one might say to an old swabby.

Welcome to MOC; we are glad that you joined us! As to meeting fellow RVers as well as people from the forum, we have been blessed to meet two different MOC families—without going to a rally—and it has done nothing to diminish my feelings that this is one of the friendliest corners of the Internet!

Welcome Rich & Lynne. I really have to admire anyone with guts enough to get on a sub. One of the best books I've ever read is "Blind Man's Bluff" about submarine espionage during the cold war - really fasinateing true stuff. The 3685FL us a great looking unit. Wish you a happy retirement and fulltiming. You've paid the fiddler, now enjoy the dance.

Welcome aboard, Lynne and Rich! And congratulations on the new Montana!

Rich, was your boat ever tied up next to the USS Sperry, AS-12?

Rich & Lynne, if you see a Montana behind a truck that is flashing its lights, they're saying 'hello'. If you blink your lights and they blink back, it's probably 'cause they're on the forum.

thanks for the tip....alot of times we take our smaller 23 travel trailer for 3-4 day trips. We love our monte...but for short trips its much easier to take the wanderer...maybe i'll take off the words "wanderer" and write "wanna be Montana!" or guess i'll just put the words "Lynne & Rich " on the bug shield of the truck....anyway if you see us...toot!!!!!

Rich, I was on the Sperry from 11/73 - 11/76. We were homeported at ComNavSubSupFacPac, Ballast Point, San Diego. We also spent 3 months at Pearl from January to April, 1974. We were at Bremerton, WA, for 3 weeks in May (I think), 1975, then in Portland, OR, for a nine-month overhaul immediately following Bremerton. Other than that, the Sperry was "USS Neversail". Stuck to the bottom in the coffee grounds, etc.

Welcome Rich and Lynne, you have hooked up with a great group of people. I have a question for Lynne. How do you like the traveling nursing thing. My wife is an RN with 35 yrs in the pits, the past 23 in the ER. She has given some thought to traveling nursing and would like in in put you can offer. I like Rich am retired.

Happy and safe travels.

SHORTSTAYER:

Kinda late getting in on the "Welcome Wagon", but glad you found this site! Are you still in Yuma? How long are you planning on being there? Looks like I'll be heading out in your direction next week to check on my Monty located in Quartzsite.

Bear Hunter,

When My wife gets home I'll have her answer your questions. So far she likes it! Gets to travel, makes more money than she ever made, and works 3 days a week! 12 hours a day, sun, mon, tue. then we take the little camper and go off for 4 days! what a life!
