Stay Away from Bastrop River RV Park

We had a very unpleasant experience with the owner of the park and would not want anyone else to endure that experience. Physically the park facilities are very good but the owner has no interest in having you return or be treated in a repectful manner while you are there.

Bastrop State Park has a very nice rv park and is likely closeby the other one. Bastrop is not a big place.

Tim,
Could you be more specific please? I have every intention of traveling the 200 or so miles from the stick house and visiting that area.

Thanks.

Bastrop State Park is not far away from the River Park and I think a better situation. They have full hook ups, paved pull throughs and less road noise. The River Park is right next to 71. It is also a little less expensive, but I recommend reservations (especially on weekends) as it is a popular state park.

IMP sure is correct. Bastrop State Park, nice place, close to town, yet somewhat secluded. Much quiter than being on Highway 71, underneath a bridge.

Like imp, I live in the area and walk Bastrop State Park on a weekly basis. It's beautiful. For those of you who may not know, it is situated in the lost pines region of Texas and consequently has lots of shade. Has a golf course and very nice swimmingpool. Also, an extensive trail system. I've never understood why it is usually not full. The Bastrop River park is next to US highway 71 and gets a lot of traffic (noise). No trees. Not the type of place I would want to stay.
Additionally, there are other RV parks on Highway 71 just West of Bastrop that are set back and seem to be more spacious. Austin, TX has some good parks as well and is only about 30 miles from Bastrop.
