Installed new water pump and silencer kit

Took out the FlowJet and installed a ShurFlo Revolution with a silencer kit. Getting 4 gallons per minute, 55psi and half the noise. I used shark bite male ends from SeaTech and so I didn't need to fit adapters to the existing ends and could cut existing tubing to make a good fit. I took some pictures, but for right now I can't get on Photobucket and I've never been able to size and post pictures direct so I'll have some pictures whenever I can figure out a way to post them.

No, this pump has a bypass and doesn't need one. In fact the installation instructions say don't do it. Here's the pictures: http://s1221.photobucket.com/user/DQ...?sort=2&page=1

I tried the rubber mat thing also, but try the SureFlo silencing kit first. It's just two flexible hoses and the needed fittings to go with what you already have. You install the hoses in a loop and they don't transfer the pump noise to the hard plastic tubing. I changed the pump because on my FloJet the little clips that are supposed to hold the water lines in would work their way out from time to time so I went with a screw on connection and while I was at it got a supposedly much better pump. A friend, who suggested the silencing kit said it reduced his noise by about half. I'd say the new pump and the kit reduced mine by about 2/3rds. Still noisy, but I might be able to flush the toilet now without waking up Joyce and all three cats.

Thanks DQDick for sharing this mod! The noise has bugged me when we dry camp because in our house it is the dogs that wake up and think it is time for breakfast and a walk!!! UGH! I have seen the silencer kits but I wasn't sure if it was a gimick or not. Glad to hear they actually work! I will have to check into it as a spring modification if spring would ever arrive here!

UPDATE - It helped, but the biggest benefit we got was better water pressure. In the dead of night it's still very very loud.
