Router and phone card help?
We bought a router while we were in AZ last week. We could not get it to work. We have Sprint cell phones so we bought a Sprint card for the router. The signal was coming through and the computer showed a good strong signal but could not get on line. Took the router back and plan on buying another router here in CO so if it doesn't work we can take it back and exchange. What are we doing wrong???
I turned off the firewall and still didn't work. Router acted as if it was locked for us. Took the security code off and it still wouldn't let us access it. It was a D-Link router.

Got it solved. We now have a Linksy's router and works with the sprint card.
If anyone is interested it is model number WRT54G3G-ST.

I have seen the router and setup that Bill and Helen use, it sounds the same, my question, will this router work with all wireless cards? I think Bill and Helen have Verizon, I have Cingular but would entertain a different setup.

Glad you're up and running, Dusty. We love our Kyocera KR1 for our Verizon aircard. It even works in Moab!

Judy, we also have a verizon air card, it is model PC5750, I ordered the Kyocera KR1 but soon found out it was incompatible with the verizon card. This is most likely an intended result by Verizon as I have seen them time after time eliminate competition by changing the technology. I assume you have the older card which apparently does work with the KR1 but I could only find used one's on e-bay so I went for the newer model.

John, I think the newer Kyocera KR1's are now compatible with the 5750, if I'm not mistaken Glenn has one but he had to wait for them to make the combination work.

Judy, Do you use an outside antenna?
Is the Verizon card fast? The sprint seems to be.
RVfirefighter, I don't know if any card will work with this one. But
I was told by Sprint that they will trouble shoot this router and also Linksys has an 800 number for that too.
In AZ, one problem we were having first time we tried it was the air card was not competely installed. I had to call Sprint because our newest laptop did not have something needed to download it. Sprint directed me to a website for the driver to download. The other older laptop downloaded the sprint card with no problem.
