Main electric cable in the underbelly

While I had the belly pan loose towards the rear installing my hitch on my new 3150 ... I discovered an electrical issue. I noticed the factory installers prior to installing the fresh water tank had drilled 6 self tapping screws downward on the 2 rear crossmembers. These secured 3 cross straps to help support the fresh water tank. My 3150RL's main power supply wire feeding towards the breaker box was wire tied right next to one of the self tapping screws. The outer jacket was beginning to get scuffed by the exposed threads already. I cut the exposed threads off of all 6 and put some thick foam tape over what was left. You may want to check this if you're exploring the underbelly some day. I would have eventually had a direct short to ground on my 120V power. You'll have to drop the rear stabilizers to see what I'm talking about ... just 4 bolts plus a handfull of self tapping screws holding the belly pan up.

Thank you for this information. I have a 2010 3150RL and will take the time to check for this issue. It certainly could be a dangerous situation if the screw should puncture the electric cord.
