Help

Help!!!! We have been asking for help for our 3685FL--2005 since we bought it. We have had continued leaks in all the slide-outs from the time we purchased. We have been in contact with our local dealer Gresham Rv and followed all the protocol. We have also been in touch with Brandon Tom from the factory. I am at a loss as to what to do. Mr. Tom wants us to take it back to the dealer and have it fixed, however he will not pay for the service. He said it was not considered a significant leak. We consider it significant because it has been on going in the same area since we purchased it. We can see what it is doing on the inside, but what may be happening behind the walls and flooring. We purchased this with the intent to use it often as we do love traveling. We had planned to spend most of the winter in it. But once again we had huge water leaks. The last time it leaked the factory did replace the facia that was damaged. I have written to Mr. Tom and explained that a product is only as good as the company service. Perhaps I am in the wrong department. If anyone knows a contact in the Keystone Company that is helpful, please let me know. My husband and I are both retired, our plan was to enjoy traveling. This is not pleasureable to me. From the information on the forum it seems many have had great success with their leak problems. They have offered to let us trade for something else: I feel in all honesty I could not pass this on to someone else, it needs to be resolved. Thank-you for your feed back. We need to know their are other owners out there who care about what is happening to us.

Sincerely,
Oregon Gypsys

Sorry, we had one small leak in one of our slides & dealer fixed it. Have been well pleased with it. I'm sure some one will be along that can help you. I would'nt want that kind of advertisment if I was Keystone.

We bought our 2006, 3400RL from the same dealer, but have been able to resolve all of the minor problems ourselves. You might consider leveraging Gresham RV with the fact that many Keystone customers participate on this forum and their reputation can be at stake. They should take ownership in resolving the problem. They own three dealerships and have the corner on Montana sales in the Portland area. We came close to buying a Montana in the Tacoma area due to Gresham RV's cockiness, but decided against it.

If Brandon Tom is no help, find out who his boss is and move up the change of command at Keystone.

Ask for Tony in service. When I was having an out of warranty problem he was very good at getting me taken care of.

I can sympathize with you. We have a brand new 2007 2955 that has had a huge leak in the very back corner (not the slide corner). We have been dealing with one of Gresham RV dealerships. They had it a week and when we went to pick it up it was still leaking. They think that it is fixed now. I was going to take it to Gresham RV if it still leaked but your post leaves me very discouraged as you probably are.

Sorry to hear of your problem with leaks. As stated on another post in Repairs and Service, we had ours fixed at the service center in Goshen In. and they did a fantastic job as just about eveyone else has reported. We went there for a frame flex problem that was repaired at the dealer first but we were concerned that it wasn't done properly. But as it turned out the dealer did a good job but they reinforced it more. I also mentioned to them that I could see daylight under the bedroom slide and they took it out and rebuilt it and even put new seals in it. We dealt with a gentleman named Darrel and were treated with every cosideration possible. Very satisfied with the whole attitude of the company and the service personel.

We can also sympathize with you folks. We have a 2005 3400RL and had a bedroom slide leak since we bought it. How we realized it, was that the carpet would be wet after a rain almost every time we had the slide out. We took it back to the dealer at least 5 times and to no avail - It would continue to leak. Finally after trying everything else, the dealer ordered a new moulding at the bottom of the slide and that took care of our problem. The original moulding had a vinyl insert in it and it is believed that this insert allowed the water to channel back into the interior causing the carpet to get wet. The new moulding does not have a insert in it and therefore has no way for the water to flow back into the interior. It was a long process, but we finally solved the problem.
I don't know if this could help you, but thought we'd share our experience on ours with you.
Good luck, these water leaks can be very frustating.

Hi,

I had a problem with my slides leaking into the cupboards on my new 3400 not even a week old. Took it to Fun Times of Dallas for the warranty work. They seemed to know what it was right away and got it in and fixed the very same day I called. Outstanding service to say the least. What they did was reseal the tape on the top outside edge of the slide, where the roof is screwed to the outside edge of the slide. Had that front come through this week with the rain then snow. Downpoured all evening and guess what? The problem was corrected and no water entered the coach. They informed that the tape they use at the factory has to be put on perfectly. If not the water gets under the edge and actually releases the glue making more of a problem.

I also had a problem with my other 5er a forest river product. The water was coming in under the slide along the edge of the carpet when I towed it. I got under there and found that they never sealed the seam between the the slide mount and the frame. Ran a bead of silicone all along the seam and never had problems with wet carpet again. Maybe check these areas and hope I this might help you get your problem fixed.

Happy Holidays.....

Remember the.......
