TireCo came through
With much dilagance we have a check coming from TireCo. After our mission tire blow-out in late April and replacement of all 4 tires, plus damage to the rig we are getting a check to repair the montana and pay for about 1/2 of the tire replacement cost. But on the plus side we did replace with Goodyear G614, E load rated. We followed everything to the letter, sent photos of damage, 3 estimates for damage, all 4 tires were returned to tireco for inspection and were very patient while they made thier decision. We are happy with the outcome, now to just get the parts for damage repair !

I thought that G614's were only available in load range G. Am I missing something?

I find it a bit amazing that we Montana owners, are happy after having tires blow out which cause damage to the Montana and get half the original replacement value. It would seem to me that we should be asking why Montana put these tires on the RV to begin with to put us through all this hassle. Were we told that we were going to have to go through all this before we purchased the Montana? Seems to me that we should expect Montana to provide good tires on what we purchase? Am I missing something?

I do not believe you missed a thing. Montana should issue a recall. I have on more than one occasion been told too bad on items in warranty. I know the auto manufacturers do not build all their parts yet they step up for the most part and replace what is wrong. I have not heard of them telling anyone to call the manufacturer of a fuel injector about a failure. To me this is a safety issue that a reputable manufacturer should address.

I am glad you are happy because thats what matters in the end. I definitely would not be though.

I know on our Ford truck we had a warranty recall on a Cam Sensor not made by Ford but Ford took care of the whole thing without a hassle. I agree Montans should issue a recall on the Mission Tires, if there are any Mission tires left on the road. Even if Tireco pays all the expense, Montana has an ethical responsibility to take care of and protect their customers. I am absolutely amazed there hasn't been a complete rebellion!

Not taking up for Keystone in the least, but tires on autos are covered by the tire manufacturer warranty. That being said, I have yet to buy a vehicle where it came with Chinese maypops on it. I think on previous RV recalls, the tire manufacturer did the recall (or perhaps the importer) and Keystone did the exchange. Seems someone posted a link to some litigation between Keystone and Tireco due to that process.
And I sure wasn't happy with Tireco. I sent them five tires, and they only reimbursed me for one. Only problem is, in order to do anything, one would have to hire an attorney, and that would buy many, many replacement tires. My plan is to not purchase again from Keystone, since they chose the tires for the rig. Anywhere I do choose to purchase, the deal breaker will be not having a good brand tire on the rig.

Looked at a Big Horn the other day. It was a 37 footer with 7,000# axles & had Goodyear G614's...standard, not optional ...Made in USA!!
