We drove down to PINS yesterday to do some surf fishing. Due to the currents in the gulf, they get trash from all over the world. But, right now, there are tons of items from Galveston and areas hit by Ike. We saw two hot tubs, a dozen or so water heaters, fridges, cabinets, doors; basically anything that would float. Also lots of stuff from the offshore oil platforms. Dozens of life jackets, hard hats and life rafts. We only drove about 15 miles of the 60 miles of beach. The beach began to get soft, and you don't want to have to get a tow truck to pull you out. They are called out of Kingsville, and can cost upwards of $2500 per tow.
