Latest design brainstorm!

One of the features of the new 3850FL is the closet for the stacking washer and dryer that does not allow stacking. The dryer sits on a shelf above the washer. This leaves about three to four inches of usable space above the washer since there are no top clearance requirements for the washer (checked the specs on the site). So what can be done in a four inch space? I was looking at the Splendide site and on one of their stackable kits, I noticed that it comes with a slide out folding table. Hmmmmmm, that sounds interesting. So, being the adventuresome, design-oriented type, I sketched up an added feature that I believe DW will really like. I think I can hang a support system from beneath the dryer shelf that will allow for a bottom support board that extends across the top of the washer and in turn will allow for horizontally installed drawer slides. Atop the drawer slides will be a slide out wooden shelf for folding the clothes coming out of the dryer above it. Ergonomic clothes folding pull out shelf. Guess I have something else to patent now!!

Bingo, if you don't stop thinking up new mods you'll never get to use that new Monty before it's time to trade again!!

Cathy loved the idea so now I guess I need to make it happen. I have already lined up a WV hardwood shop to make sure I can get cherry wood. Combined with the cherry glaze that George supplied me with when we picked up the rig (Thanks again George, you are the greatest for going out of your way to make the delivery through the gate!!) I think I can make this look really good. It is a winter project, so there should be photo-documentation available before Spring. I thrive on this stuff (as if the MOC was unaware!!) We are going camping in a couple of weeks, thank goodness!

Careful, you are very close to the number of mods necessary for your rig to require it's own model #

I think you are right Dick. Maybe a letter designation... like 3850FL-B ("B" for Bingo).
