I have always changed my oil. However whle we had the 3500 dually, sometimes I just had to have it done, and I don't like carrying a catch can why traveling. Now with the Chevy Kodiak it takes 15 quarts of oil (Rotella 15/40) with filter change and I always change the filter. We change about ever 12,000 miles or 6 months, book says 15,000 under ideal conditions. When we returned to Tennessee, I noticed a big increase in oil price??? I normally by the oil by 5 quart containers, I am now looking for the best price? I will buy about 10 at a time. I carry the used oil to the dump station. The Allison spin on filter I change every 5,000. The only place I have found the new Trans fluid is at the GM dealer and its about $6.00 a quart. But I just fill the spin on and it doesn't take much. Hey guys don't forget the Magnet on top of the oil filter.. GBY...

Your Dodge uses 12 quart of oil, 12 quarts at around $3.00 a quart is $36.00, about $10.00 for a filter and add the $20.00 to change totals $56.00. Dodge dealer in ST George charges $59.00. You can buy the same filter Dodges uses from Cummins, the Fleetguard Stratapore is the best.
