For those who want to know what Winegard told me

I had a nice chat with Karen. She told me the following.

"Winegard has been checking for bad Antenna's for two years at the direction of the FCC. Due to cuts in employees, we really never know ahead of time where we are going to be checking and sometimes we end up checking a particular park or area because the "Tower people" have called us and told us there is a problem".

"Winegard has replaced "thousands of antennas" and it does not seem to be slowing down. Yet, in the Tampa Bay area we have gone from 20 employees checking for bad antennas to 2 employees".

"Yes, the Booster has to be on to find a defective antenna. Yes, you can have a problem with TV reception with one of these defective antennas, (snowy pictures, poor reception) but not always. Winegard assumes most people have their boosters on, even if using dish or cable".

"Sometimes who you see driving through your park is not us but the FCC, checking on us. If they find us not doing our job they fine Winegard $10,000 a day."

That's what I was able to find out. Hope this info is helpful.
