Question Montana 3731FL Question

Hi everyone,
We are new to the forum but have been looking at getting a 3731FL model unit for about 2 years. The wife and I keep coming back to this floor plan. Can anyone who has one tell us their good and bad experiences with their 5er.
TIA

Welcome to the forum Butch from Washington state. We don't have the model you are interested in but for us we found the lack of basement storage in the front living floor plans not suitable for our needs. Just our take.

Thanks Fireguy. That is the one thing that I found lacking in the floorplan but the wife loves it so it may come down to "happy wife happy life"

Take a look at the reverse model of the 3731FL...It would be a 3790/91RD. It is the same layout with the den and bedrooms flipped. We went with this model because there is a ton of outside storage around the whole trailer. In the rear, which would be under the den there is a large hatch with a 9ft slide out type drawer that can hold a bunch. I don't think we can totally fill all the space in ours. Might be worth checking out....

We have this model, suits us great.
Yes the basement is smaller but can’t really see needing any more space . I don’t have a generator inside so that’s dedicated to my Traeger pellet grill and outside stuff.
We’re just finishing a 4 month trip and finding we have lots we didn’t need so it’s getting removed.
The one down side is with the dinning room slide you can’t “tilt” the awning.

We looked at the 3790 and the big back storage looked tempting but I could see overloading the rear end.
This is the first camper we have ever had so don’t have any comparison but really like it.

we have a 374 hc and love the layout. Believe it or not I have more storage in this unit then any other. The front compartment is narrow on door side bit the other side is a good size and pass thru also. I have 2 6ft tables 4 lawn chairs a 10x15 tent frame I use to carry in the truck is now up front. Then there is the storage where a future generator goes really large. Also have storage on bedroom side slide I can fit 3 of those plastic containers in there 15inchs high by 24 long. And then the back of the trailer has a very big storage width of trailer and 20inch high in side.

Montana 3731FL

When I was at the National Rally, I went to the Montana factory tour and the tour guide said they were redoing the 3731FL. They are changing the bedroom so that it is elevated so you can have storage under the bedroom from the outside, like the rear den model and they are adding a half bath.

Hi Ohiocamp,
Did they say when they were expecting to release the revised 3731?

He said it would be released in 2019, the new model# is Montana 3761FL, if you do a google search of this new model# some RV dealers are already listing the new model.

We are now long timers, just retired in May.
We’re headed home now from a 4 month trip. Won’t be back out till April with plan to make 2019 MOC rally in September so 6- 7 months next year.

It all comes down to personal preference and what works for you. I have the 2012 3750FL and love the layout. I like having the LR all the way up front and the bedroom in the back. It gives the camper a more open and roomy feeling. When you walk in there is no bedroom door or wall to your right, it is all open and just makes it feel a lot bigger. Plus with the LR up front if someone wants to stay up and watch TV in the LR you will not hear them in the bed room if you want to go to sleep. I am happy with the amount of outside storage I have. It is enough for what I carry. I found that the more storage I have the more junk I carry. My unit has a lot of inside storage compartments through out the unit. As a matter of fact some of my inside compartments are empty.
They made a lot of changes in the floor plan of 3731FL compared to mine. Some I like some I don't. I like the fact that they changed the bathroom layout and that it is now in it's own separate room. In my unit I have to walk through the bathroom to get to the bedroom which is no big deal for me and my GF plus it gives us more room in the bathroom. The one thing that I don't like on the new 3731FL is the addition of the 6th slide out under the awning. My friends has one on his toy hauler and you probably lose about 3 or 4 feet of outside sitting space under your awning with that slide sticking out. I really like my 3750FL and don't plan on upgrading. But if something were to happen to it and I had to replace it I definitely would get another FL.
