new hoses
We now have replaced all of the slide hoses with 3000 PSI reinforced hoses. Good bye leaks? I hope.

Sounds like you have it taken care of. Were your leaks the hoses themselves or was it hose ends where the connector ends are installed. This is my first rv with hydraulics.

Where did you acquire the hose from.

The hoses were from Lake County Hose Co. in Illinois which specializes in hydraulic hoses. The replacement was done by a truck/trailer repair facility. Originally I replaced the bedroom slide hoses myself after having the fittings replaced and than the hoses themselves splitting. The third hose was replaced during the repairs from our accident last year. Those hoses and the new ones today were all upgraded to the reinforced, 3000 psi hose. The problems this time was related to the OEM fittings and it just wasn't worth the hassle of cleaning up the spills and adding fluid. Both the repair facility and the hose company were not impressed by the quality of the OEM hoses or the installation. One of the replaced hoses was 9' long and coiled up and left laying on the belly panel. The actual length required was 3'. Lippert wanted me to come to their facility for repairs, I'm glad I didn't. They probably would have replaced or repaired with the same garbage.

Our first trip with the new hoses and NO LEAKS. For the first time since we owned the Montana we are truly "dry camping" Now what to do with the 3 extra quarts of ATF fluid I've been carrying?

Just recently replaced the 2 hose for the bedroom slide. They were about 4.5' long each, NAPA made the hose with new ends rated at 5500 psi. The hose had the same ID as the old 1/4". Better than they had to be....$89.00.

I believe the original hoses were 1700 psi. My replacements are 3100 psi.

Been lucky so far only had to replace one of the hoses, I too replaced with the 3100 psi. It did have to be one of the longest hoses @ 26 feet. The crazy thing is my manual said to use ATF , which I didn't because it was not ATF in there, unless there is ATF that is clear . Called a local Montana dealer, and was told if it was clear then just use plain hydraulic or bottle jack oil. Don't know if the two can be mixed, but stayed with hydraulic oil.
