Water Filters

We have a 3665RE and need to know, should we buy a filter and if so what type would be best.

I just redid my water filter system. I bought a filter and pressure regulator from Lowes and built my own set-up. I can get replacement filters easily.

We started out using a water filter but within a year we stopped using it. I'm certain there are places out there where the water actually needs a filter. We have yet to camp in a place that really needed to have a water filter. We have been pleased to find the quality of water around the country to be relatively high. That is why we no longer worry about the quality of the water. Dennis

We just bought a set-up that was recommended to us by another MOC member (zman08). Here is the link: Water filter. Never thought we needed one, but the last park we stayed at the water was terrible and we forgot to bring bottled water. This system should take car of that.

We did like NCFisher and built our own. Used basically the same filter Jackel showed in his post only we use a single instead of a double. After doing all of this I'm not sure HamRad didn't hit the nail on the head. We have seldom had a problem with water quality except odor which the filter has little impact on. Others swear by their effectiveness. To each their own. Jim

We have the same system that Jackal1959 has and think it works great. DW is very picky about water but this system produces totally fresh and clean water all day long without any loss in pressure. Got it at www.rvwaterfilterstore.com who were very helpful putting it together.

We have a triple filtered system that was put together by www.rvwaterfilterstore.com. We have had it for over three years and get filters from then when necessary. We have the two jumbo filters outside and an undercounter filter with its seperate spigot. Works for us, as fulltimers we have never had a problem with bad water....

I just use a standard Omni House filter which gets connected in-line outside. Just to filter out the big chunks.

We have found that not all water is palatable- We use a Culligan that is mounted on the outside of "Annie" but in Arizona we buy treated water for coffee and drinking- Some campgrounds have their own well and the taste varies widely- JHMO- Don

Thanks for all the help. Will be talking to the the rvwaterfilterstore and checking at the big box stores and make a decision which way I'm going to go.

We use General Ecologies Seagull IV filters with their own tap for drinking, cooking and teeth brushing and we use one of the blue inline filters to remove dirt.

We've done a little bit of traveling, as well, which is exactly why we do use a filter. Mine is home-made with a Watts regulator, and standard whole-house filter housing, making filters and parts easy to come by. Last park we stayed at-Fort Monroe required me to change the filters every 3 weeks, they would completely clog up with particulate and rusty-looking sludge. Needless to say we drank bottled water but the filtered seemed to work fine for washing clothes/showers, etc.

I didn't have a plan, just started attaching stuff til it looked like it would work.
