CalMark Cover
I just purchased a cover for my 2011 Mountaineer from the folks at CalMark Covers. I had researched the forum and picked them based on the advise provided. I was delighted to find out that this company is American owned and operated and uses American manufactured materials to assemble custom covers. I received mine and have installed it and just wanted to pass along to those of you shopping for one that I am very pleased with the quality, not to mention the 6 year warranty. Don't post very much, but when I have a good experience I just like to pass it along. Give this company a look.

Not too bad. I think it weighs around 75 pounds. My son(him up on the roof) and I pulled it up from one side, hooked the nose end and I pulled it down on the other. We just worked our way to the back of the unit. Next time I will experiment with front to back, taking the back end of the cover and walking down the roof to the rear of the Mountaineer after hooking it on the nose end. FYI I compared prices with the other designer covers and CalMark was about the same price with a much better warranty. The folks there are very nice to deal with (no I am not related to them).

When removing I pull the sides up and roll it to the middle of the roof (each side) so I end up with both sides rolled to the middle. We then slide it off the front cap like a big sausage into a big storage container (72 gallon I think). My wife guides it into the container. When ready to put it back on I drop the end of a rope to her from the front and pull it up over the front cap. I pull it down the center (opposite of removing it). Then from the front, she hooks it under the cap and attaches the first securing strap. then drop the sides to then next strap. I found this to work rather than dropping both sides down first as ANY wind could be a bit crazy. (very big para-sailing trip). After the 4 securing straps are on and pulling the back end down behind as I decend the ladder, I secure the bottom with the grommits by rope under the rig. After two or three times we can remove/cover in about 15 minutes.
