Kitchen lights
For those of you that put the pendant lights in the kitchen, how did you use the lights from Lowes on a 12 volt spot? What kind of mod did you have to do. I'm interested in having my husband change ours and I need all the info before he tells me it can't be done ha ha. Thanks for any info you can give

Hi, I wired up a switch, split the kit for 2 locations, and probably jury-rigged something.. Ha!
Hard to remember the step-by-step install, but get the kit, see what you...he.. has to do to make it fit, and have him email me, we can exchange phone no's and I will help in any way I can.

You can buy 12 volt CFLs that will fit a standard household fixture. We had changed out all the wall fixtures in the Montana with wall fixtures from Lowes and installed 12 Volt CFLs that we bought at CW, but you can find them at other RV Supply Stores.

Any 120 volt light fixture will work on a 12 volt system. You just need to use 12 volt bulbs. If tou use 120 volt bulbs, the light will be only 10% as bright as it should be.

Here is a link the the manufacturer that Keystone uses (or at least used to use) for their 12V fixtures: Gustafson Lighting and a link to my kitchen lighting mod: Lighting Mod. After the install we replaced all of our 12V incandescent bulbs with the LEDs from Mike and Kat and now it is really nice and bright in the kitchen area. Good luck and have fun.
