sanitizing the fresh water tank

I have a one year old 3665RE fifth wheel and would really like to sanitize the fresh water tank. The manual (which was released in 2006) is less than useless. It says open the fill and pour the chlorine mixture in. I have been unable to locate this opening. I fill the tank with the valve manifold. So, how is the fresh water tank sanitized?

thanks for any help.

At the rear drivers side of the trailer, there is a small door. Open it and you will find the fresh water fill opening.

frankandpam,
You can fill it two ways as stated....one with the valve manifold you found, and through the little door on the driver's side at the rear.

To sanitize the fresh water tank, just pour about a cup of clorox into the tank, and then fill the tank with water. Then, run all of the faucets, including the toilet....anywhere water is used. Once you smell clorox from each outlet, let the lines with clorox in them sit for a couple of hours. Then flush and repeat until you don't smell the clorox.

I recommend that you also flush your tanks at the same time. Clorox is not good for the rubber seals on the valves.

BTW, Welcome to the forum...and hope you enjoy your new Monty!
