Sewer Hose storage

We just purchased a 2013.5 3150RL Montana and there is no place provided for storage of the sewer hose. Can someone tell me what you have done to provide for same. We just moved up from a HitchHiker yr.2000.

I would have thought there would be a place in the rear bumper. If not, 6 inch PVC pipe screwed to the bumper works.

We bought a narrow plastic trash can and put it in with the propane bottle on the passenger side. It holds 3 colapesable sewer hoses. These hoses are orange and extend to 10 to 12 feet. Works just fine for us.

Way back in 2002 I purchased two 8' X 4" pvc pipes, four threaded collars and four screw-in caps. I mounted both of them under the front of the rig behind the front legs. After determining where to drill access holes for mounting the pipes to the RV chassis beams (one on each end of each pipe), I then used 1/4" X 1 1/4" self tapping screws with 1/4" fender washers to hold the pipes to the chassis. Makes it very handy to store the sewer hoses and to access them when getting parked. Make the access holes on the bottom side of the pipes large enough to not only allow access for your drill but to allow any moisture to escape.

I store sewer fittings in one of the pipes also.

On the new 2013 models where they did away with the sewerboom I noticed a sewer hatch door back there near where the water fill used to be located. Now the fill is only the overflow vent. I can't say for sure for the 3150RL. But I thought I noticed the hatch there also on a new model.
If all fails, like Capt Kidd stated a small flexible trash can works great in front of the propane tank on the drivers side.

As a side note, I just looked up a photo of the new 2013 3150RL model and it had the sewer hatch I referred to.

Took a square plastic fence corner post and using the maximum size wire ties strapped it to a basement crossmember under the basement. used screws to secure the one cap and a bungee cord set up to secure the other. Can store twice as much hose in there as I have ever needed including at the fall rally.

Did the same as DQDick except used ss band clamps to secure to cross members. Drilled several holes in the bottom for ventilation.

here is what some of us do with 6" tubing.

I do think the square 6 inch fence post look very neat and easy for the install.

We bought a plastic sewer tube storage, there are several lengths. We attached it to the underside of the sheet metal between the basement doors and frame with screws and double sided tape. Works well. Ours had the sewer boom. I removed the flex tube and plastic tube and replaced it with a longer tube. So we have 2 storage tubes. Enough for 2 x 10 ft hoses and 1x15 hose . Never fail to reach.

I have a 6" piece of PVC that is mounted on the bottom of the frame that is 8' long. It's enough room for 30' of hose and two pieces of 10' eaves trough cut in half for support on the sewer hose while in use. Works well!

I have removed the sewer boom on my 2011-3455 Montana (it was always a pain to use) Wintering in Apache Junction, AZ and went to Home Depot, Lowes, Ace Hdwr., and a farm/ranch supply store in the last few days trying to find 6 inch pvc...they only seem to carry 4 inch - went to Camping World today and bought their sewer storage tube as a last resort, but when I got home my Rhino hose is too large to fit into that tube. Any suggestions?

I had the tube at the backend of the unit, and one day pulled out of parking lot with a dip and pulled the whole thing off. I found a much better and safer locatio., Just behind the rear wheel attached to under carriage of the unit. I havedn't mastered putting pictures here, so I can send if you want, let me know. The tube has a vent at one and and open on hose insert side. I pull a small link chain accross the (hose with connector)tube opening to sucure it. This gives lots of air flow for drying and airing out. Let me know if you want pics.

Our 2013 has a small door near the back on driver side. It looks like an outside shower door and does not lock. They tell me that's for the sewer hose. I put the hose there for the winter but will be re-mounting the tube I built for our motor home using perforated white drain tile. I will mount to frame or under the coach.

It seems Montana could standardize something so basic.

Also available at Lowes and the others you mentioned. You just looked in the wrong department. This is what we are talking about: http://www.lowes.com/pd_23115-73428-...ost&facetInfo=

A corner post like this has holes in a couple of sides and make excellent drains and air vents.

Ditched the boom late last summer after getting frustrated with it once too often. Still haven't mounted anything (it's still snowing this morning and we've about 6" on the ground), but that's on my spring to-do list - if spring ever gets here!

Like others, I used 6" PVC pipe, cap on one end and a threaded screw cap on the other. Drilled a series of 1/2" holes in the bottom of pipe as mounted. Secured to frame with plumbers metal tape. It is now on it's 3rd RV. When I sell, I take it off and move to the new one.

Using a 6" I can get the 3 5' sections of plastic rain gutter I use for hose support in it along with the hose and angled clear piece on the hose.

Mine is mounted behind the axles, in front of the spare tire.
