Front Jacks Zerk Fittings
The front jacks subject comes up often. Here is another one I discovered. On our new 2010 the front legs have a grease zerk about 4" down from the top cap. It appears to be for greasing the leg tube.
I did not notice this zerk on our 08 model. Anyone care to shed some light on this?
There also appears to be oil that seeps from the motor gear box into the landing gear housing. This part of it does not seem normal to me.
Has anyone added a second motor to the landing gear themselves without taking it to a dealer?

I talked to Venture who builds the legs and they were looking into beefing up the legs because of the added weight. Many of us have talked to them about lubrication. So the grease fitting is not a surprise.
Can not comment on the grease from the reduction gear.
You mention adding another motor. If you do you need to replace the leg on the current non motor (passenger) side. The motor spins one way and because of the passenger leg coupling to the reduction gear it spins the opposite way.

couldn't you just reverse the current to the second motor, it's dc, would run reverse, mine does.

We also have the front leg zerk with our 2010.
Has anyone come across a recommendation for how much grease and how often?

John what do you think they are lubing with that zerk, the jack screw, gears, or inner outer tubes?

Joe,
Here is a link to the Venture Mfg. website with the instructions for doing the conversion: Dual Motor Conversion and also the Owner's Manual: Owner's Manual. I'm not sure if this is what your asking about, but I hope it helps.

Didn't see any response to "how much" or "how often." Did you ever get any input on your question?

Good move by Keystone to add the ability to lube the landing gear...just wish they would have put the zerks on the outboard side of the gear housing vs facing forward. With the current zerk orientation, we need a grease gun with a flex nozzle...which I do not have. Just another thing to buy.

I'll have to check my 2010 3150RL. That would be a GOOD thing to have!
