Tire size calculator

I know that our resident experts, Lonnie and Glenn usually can answer all of our questions, but I found this handy little conversion site to see just how tall/wide a different size tire would be on our Montanas and tow vehicles. A good bookmark maybe?

For instance - according to this calculator - a ST235/80R16 is 31.7 inches tall and a LT 265/75R16 is 31.6 inches tall. BUT... it is one full inch wider...

Glenn, I didn't check to see if this was on our Montana Owners web page?

* I know some of you - and you know who you are - will play with this for at least a half hour.

Dave, you had me going there for a minute. The calculation didn't work for a 235/80-16, but it does work for a 235/85-16.

Dave, I am 90% sure I don't have it on the links page but I will add it. It just may come in handy someday.

Bob, you may be right. I re-calculated 235 - 80 - 16 and came up with 30.8 inches high, not 31.7. I discovered you have to make sure you RESET every time you change tire sizes or you will get incorrect figures.

I still got 31.6 inches high for the 235/75R16. And I still got 1.1 inches wider for the bigger tire. Not sure if that's an issue. I do know that with my tv air bags leveling my truck when hooked up it does raise my 3400 nose a little. Wouldn't hurt for me to have a little taller tire in the 5ver.
