Thank you Pressure Pro
Seventy miles out of Newburgh NY on I87 and pressure pro goes to 0 on left rear of trailer, pulled over to visualize and yeppers it was flat. Had to get Truway garage to change out tire. Good Sam ERS would not touch it cause we were on a "Restricted road" the NY Thruway. I have to send the receipt to Good Sam for "possible" reimbursement........These were not Missions but bought from Les Schwab in Spokane two years ago. Will take tire to reputable shop tomorrow to see what the problem is and whether it is repairable or not. This is the third flat that Pressure Pro has alerted us to. No damage either........I guess it has paid for itself by now!

Phil--very glad how well you got thru this episode. But don't understand why Good Sam ERS didn't come thru for you. Let them know how others will be watching to see if they reimburse you for the tire change.

Glad things worked out, Phil. If you recall, last year Good Sam refused to change our tire because it might have been vandalism. I wrote them and they would never reply. Glad to hear Pressure Pro worked well for you. It's on our "future" purchase list for next year.

Phil - Glap PP worked for you! Assume that ERS wouldn't respond because you were on the toll road? Glad you caught it w/no damage. Be interested to hear what the problem was. Best wishes,

Thank God for this forum....After reading about tire problems on here for the last year and a half I now have all missions replaced and will be purchasing a pressure pro before heading to Florida for vacation next April. keep on telling us of the tire experiences it really helps. Also helps to convince the DW why I am spending the money.... Chuck

Phil, I would also like an update on the response from Good Sam ERS. Was it Good Sam themselves or strictly some policy of the towing company involved?

Dave,
It probably has nothing to do with the towing company or Good Sam. Only certain towing companies are allowed to tow on the NYS Thruway. We have a friend who owned a large Towing Co. in Albany, who tried applied and was turned down. Not sure I can explain the reason why.

Dave, I was told NONE of the Good Sam tow companies were authorized to tow on the NY Thruway. Told this by Good Sam, AFTER, they took all my info then again by the tow truck company. You have to be contracted by NY to do this work.... The reputable tire dealer in Boston said the inside core broke do to heat. He put the same brand tire back on and I will take my spare to him for replacement also. I realized the spare was a tire I bought in Canada over two years ago and it was a very cheap tire then. AH, Life on the road!!!!!!!! Gotta love it!!!!!

Dave,
TST is Truck Systems Technologies Inc. They also sell pressure monitoring systems. After talking to some people that have both systems and researching both systems, I have opted for TST and ordered the system yesterday. I feel that they are both equal in quality. TST's system was less expensive and by ordering directly through TST's website, I was not charged tax or shipping.
I was also going to wait to get a monitoring system but after reading the threads on this forum, I ordered it before we head to Goshen. I will feel a whole lot better knowing what is happening with the tires instead of constantly looking in the mirrors to see if there is a problem since then it will have been too late. This thread and others like them have helped me to convince the DW of the necessity of the purchase. In my mind, this ranks second to surge protection when making improvements to our rigs.

I think I saw or read somewhere that TST has a better monitor screen?

We just got our TST system. One of the reasons we chose was that it has temperature monitoring too. Bought directly from them, system and 10 sensors for under $500, 2 year warranty. Also like that for $25 they replace batteries, new outer case and redo all o-rings etc. on sensors.
