Water Filtration

I was wondering what some of you have for water filtration in your 5th wheels. Under the sink only or a combination of outside plus under the sink. If so where did you buy and how much. Camping World has several. Any recomendations?

Outside, you can also get them at Lowes and Home Depot. We got ours at Home Depot.

We use double filtration outside. Not enough room under the sink.

We do some as Orv double outside. At time with CG with low water presure we remove the carbon filter and use a standard carbon filter.

Same as billhoover. We don't use the RV freshwater for drinking water. External use only.

We have jumbo double canisters outside from www.rvwaterfilterstore.com and one under the kitchen sink for our drinking water. We do drink our coach water, but carry bottled water just in case and for flavored drinks. They have been great to us......

WalMart blue filter, then a water softener, followed by a charcoal filter. Been drinking the water for 6 years now.

Our 08 Big Sky came with an internal filter and I added two external "whole house" filters as well as a softener for laundry. all filters are carbon and we drink and bath and wash with the water in the rig. Never had a problem

We run a large double outside if we're there long enough, plus a smaller double under the sink for the drinking water.
A little overkill, but I like overkill...

Sometimes the local grocery stores have filtered water for really cheap - if they do we get a couple gallons of that too.

After attending a couple of Seminars on water filtration at rallies we realized there is more to water filtration than just going out a buying any old filter.

What do you want to filter out, Taste , smell. minerals, chlorine, etc, There are different filters for different things..We also are equiped from the RV waterfilter store. In Florida we run a sedimment filter first followed by a 5M carbon filter.

I installed a canister filter (Culligan) in the garage, next to the convenience center using a short hose. I use a quick disconnect for the main supply.

I carry water from home in our fresh water tank and use that plus bottled water for drinking and making coffee. Don't filter anything.

Built a two part system ourselves. Got all the parts at Ace and can find the charcoal and string type filters just about anywhere we are at local hardware and walmart stores.

We went with "HydroLife" under the kitchen sink...got it on line for $50-$60. The last time I was in Camping World in Tampa, they had replacement filters for about $35. So far, HydroLife seems to be working for us. We started with an outside filter too, but the water pressure was so low that we decided that taking a shower in "unfiltered" water was ok.
