carpet cleaning tips

I have sand colored carpet in my rv and i am needing advice on whats the best product to clean whole rug of spots and dirty areas? Also, does the vacuum in your Montana's keep your carpet clean? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Most of us sweep regular, clean spots asap, just like the stick built, I personally LOVE Spot Shot (believe that is the name, gessh, ole leaky brain), available at W*Mart for spots. Then clean as frequently as needed with a carpet cleaner, I use mine from the stick built. Some have had commercial places come in and do the carpet for them.

Enjoy that unit.

To clean spots, I use Awesome diluted 10/1 and an industrial nylon brush (a little larger than a tooth brush). The procedure is to spray on the Awesome, brush vigorously, then blot dry with a micro fiber cloth. Has worked well for two years on our sand colored carpet. It has even taken up a shoe print made with a tar like substance.

We just had our carpets cleaned here at Catalina Spa & RV Resort in Desert Hot Springs, CA. for $65.00. Man, what a great job this guy did. Very meticulous. He's a full timer and he does this for a living. He's somewhat younger than I am, probably in his lower 50's at the most. He gets all his business by word of mouth. We get him every year because we like him. The carpets look almost new again.

Spot Shot has worked well for me followed up by annual cleaning by a pro or by renting a do it yourself unit.
