Quick Draw Products ( Slides )

Has anyone had the problem with the plastic strips breaking off on your slide outs , it's where the electric lines , and gas lines connect and slide in and out? I have one broken and 2 ready to break , not sure of the proper name ? We have a 3500RL , 2006 .
Looking for a place to buy them for replacement ?

Jerrybb,

I believe there have been several folks who have had a similar problem. A search might produce some results. Unfortunately I can't remember what it is called either! Sorry. Someone will come along who has had the problem. Seems to be the fix was to replace the plastic with a metal gate hinge..... or something like that.

Good luck.

Yes I mounted a three in gate hinge on mine where it broke. Works fine.
Good luck,

That was a common problem on 2006 models. The 3" or 4" Hinge was the common fix.

Yep, cut that sucker off and installed 4 inch gate hinges on each one and have not had any problems. I used 1/4 bolts 3/4 inch long with the self tightening nuts. We called them aircraft nuts at one time, the ones with the nylon inserts. I guess lock washers and nuts would do just as good. I then sprayed them with black anti rust Krylon paint. No problems in 18 months.......

This happened to my 07. I didn't think of the hing, but I drilled 3 or 4 holes in mine and ran very thick tie-wraps. This has worked fine for about 8 months now.

That reminds me I need to fix the one on the Superslide. I just carry the hinges with me and have fixed one so far.
