Hydraulic Slideout System
When the slides on my 2008 Monty 3075 are out, the Nylock Nut on the hydrolic actuator rod has about a one inch space between it and the bracket. The jam nuts on the back side are snug up to the bracket. I questioned a guy at the dealer and he said this was normal, however, the pictures in the Lippert Manual show this Nylock nut to be snug against the bracket. Do I need to tighten the nut down? If I do will it change the adjustment on my slides when they are in the "IN" position? Thanks for any info!!

Dowman, I would call Lippert direct, or send a photo by Private Message (PM) to MIMF (works for Lippert).
My personal advise is, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

I seem to remember that there should be some distance between the things you're talking about. I think the info came from the Lippert folks. But I'm with Brad on this one.... if it ain't broke don't fix it.
Let us know if you find out exactly what is supposed to be!
Good luck.

That clearance is supposed to be there. The cylinder should be adjusted so that the slide is sealed in or out at the same time the cylinder is at the end of its stroke. If the slide reaches the end of its travel before the cylinder you could damage the slide.

Thanks Charlie,
I am glad my memory is not completely gone! Was it Dale that informed us about this issue?

Yup, Gents. It probably was me.
Dowman, don't snug those nut up to the bracket!! If you do, a lot of things may get broke!
The hydraulic cylinders are set so that when the piston inside the tube is bottomed out against the inside of the end-caps of the cylinder tube, the room will be sealed. Therefore, because the stroke of the cylinder maybe longer than the actual stroke of the room from seal to seal, There will be a gap between those nuts.
