Have no idea about frequency on Anderson related failures, but there have been a few pictures posted showing failures of the Anderson tubular frame. I remember only one pic of a pin box being bent due to the way the Anderson adapter stressed that pin box. Don’t remember any actual trailer frame failures.

Lipper designs frames considering how 5er hitches work in conjunction with them. They only endorse one goose neck style hitch and kit is made by Reese.

Several similar to this:

https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...ch-falure.html

I have not seen any reports of their original steel version having failures.

Any of the usual conventional hitches will work just fine - it's when you get into the Anderson modified goose neck design where you run into trouble with loadings on both the truck and the trailer frame

I couldn't be happier with my B&W companion, its heavy but doesn't bother me. I do a lot of hunting so off road camping is a must, the only factor that limits articulation is the distance from the top of of the bed to the bottom of the trailer.

I have the Andersen Ultimate 5th Wheel Hitch, never tower with a conventional 5th wheel hitch but love the Andersen and bumping into more and more ppl who have it and love it,
has with a lifetime warranty and their support has been great, also easy to install and remove

Hitch recommendation

I recommend the B & W Companion. I have the one that fits into the factory holes on my Ford F350 and it is great and fits perfectly. Easy to take in and out.

B&W Companion

We bought the B&W Companion for multiple reasons.

-no rails in the bed
-we are able to now tow a goose neck

We have had nothing but success so far and it is easy to use.

Not to forget the positive locking system where there is a handle that controls the jaws. Never worry whether it's locked or not.

So if I have read some of the Posts correctly, the OEM hitch from MOPAR that fits their puck system is really manufactured by Curt? I want either a Curt or B&W based on everyones posts in multiple threads but the easiest place for me to get an install is at my truck dealer. Camping World insists on selling me Pro Series which I understand to be Reece?

The Pro Series is a Reese. But the Reese Elite is a much better hitch. Pro Series is their low price model. My Elite works great.

I know for an absolute fact that the OEM Mopar is in fact a Curt. I purchased one with my truck and my friend bought the exact same hitch from Curt online. I am very happy with the Mopar/Curt.

I had a Pro Series Reese before this hitch and it was absolute junk. DON"T BUY ONE! I have heard that Reese makes a better line of hitches but I won't buy one from a company that makes one as poorly constructed as the Pro series. They burned me once, that's the only chance they get!

Get the B&W if you cvan, Curt would be my 2nd choice while the Reese Pro series would come it at number 40 on a list of 1 - 10. Had one, one and done!

Pullrite Superslide here, on 22k superrail custom frame kit. that frame kit allows full removal of in box hardware for clean bed.

My B&W Companion (for Ford) comes out in two pieces to make it easier and lighter. Two pins and the top section comes out. Then four levers and the bottom section comes out.

Ram and Ford have 4 point puck systems from the factory! Easy in and out and clean flat bed when out!

The Mopar/Curt does the same.

But I have a tractor at home to lift hitch so no need to take apart. I have never done it but have heard of folks pulling the hitch out with landing gear via leaving it attached to trailer, pulling truck out and lowering it with landing gear onto a frame of some sort then unhitching.

nope

Not trying to get my post count up but last year at a Myrtle Beach mega campground saw several crushed beds from what? that typical hitch that everybody swears by. The worst one was a brand new dodge white dually ( still had the paper new truck tags on it) with a crushed bed. Light, connect at any angle , positive connections no question it`s on the post, safety chains, don`t need a engine crane or farm implement or buba to remove it, did I say light weight.
Yeh I think I did.

The Reese hitch work great if after you back in make sure you take the torque off the hitch by putting the truck back in drive and move forward an inch or two. It works the same way forward in some where just back an inch or so.
