Kennel in Seattle

We're going on an Alaskan cruise this summer and need a nice place to board our dog -- our baby who has never been boarded! Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Ruth,
If your baby has never been boarded he/she is going to have a lot of trauma. If at all possible you really should try to find a relative or friend or very nice neighbor to dog sit for the time you are gone. Our daughter uses us for that purpose. We have 3 boys (you can see them in our sig block) who just love it when she comes down for a visit. This past 3 or 4 months we have sat Ms. Daisy for a little over a month. She is just another bark and fits in perfectly with our little guys.

Our daughter will be moving to Seattle around February or March so she might be available. I would think that Seattle might have some very nice kennels. It has a lot of people and seems to be "enlightened" when it comes to many things so perhaps they have some great kennels. Good luck. Dennis

Ruth and Harry, that sounds like so much fun. We will be celebrating our 50th. this summer so we will possibly be "cruising " out west in "the lodge " .
Don't leave Cain, haha

Dennis -- We are leaving the Fl. Keys on May 1st. We are treating all of our kids and grandkids to join us on the cruise. They are all flying to Seattle from FL on July 29th. We leave on the cruise on Juy 31st. If your daughter is nearby we would surely appreciate knowing her name. Thanks so much!!

Here are a few links to Kennels in the Seattle are http://barkinglounge.com, http://www.adorablepetlodge.com/, http://www.central-bark.com/. Remember that most of them have the same requirements of • Must be well socialized, • Must be spayed or neutered if over 6 months of age, • Must be current on all vaccinations including rabies, combination shot and bordetella, • Must have a recent fecal exam at your veterinarian to test for intestinal parasites,• Must be flea free, • Must be wearing a quick-release collar with some sort of name identification.

We live accross the water from Seattle in the Bremerton area and have never used these Kennels, but know what you are talking about when you say they are our babys. I know our 75 lbs Yellow Lab is my wife's baby, and it's hard when we have to board him. Good luck, and hope you have a great cruise.
