These CHEAP DANG CABINETS! ARGH!
Ok as some of you know I had a cabinet incident just after purchasing my new unit. After my last trip I didn't check the cabinets but over the weekend I opened the cabinet next to the oven and now the bottom shelf has completely collapsed. There were only some tiny pieces of wood holding the edge of the shelf to the sidewalls. Two gave way and now its just an empty space until we get back from our next trip.
For those of you who have had to have repairs under the normal 1 year warranty period will they cover fixing these cabinets? The drawer under the ice box keeps falling apart as well. I have only opened that drawer 3 times since I purchased the unit.
I can't for the life of me figure out what is going on back there. I have changed tires, slowed my driving to 55 miles per hour on the highway and take extra care to pack any cabinet over 1/3 full of its capacity.
I will try to post some pictures tomorrow but man do I want my Mountaineer 330RKBS back! If I knew the 3000RK was going to be this much trouble for an extra few feet above the head I would have kept the old one.

I believe that Keystone's warranty on shelving and cabinet adjustment is but a mere 90 days from purchase date.

I have had great success with GORILLA GLUE!!! Coffee table, end table, cab doors, day night shade bobbins, most of the screws that hold the curtains down, like duct tape it hides a multitude of sins... Dave

Sorry about your problems, hope you get Keystone to fix them. That being said, I hate to say this but there are a lot of us with 3000RK's, I have over 10,000 miles and have never had a problem with the cabnits or anything else. This is our third trailer and the DW loves it.

We too have a 3000RK and have also had problems with the drawer under the refrigerator. The bottom fell out - hubby told me I had it packed too heavy with pots and pans, but still, it kinda ticked me off! So now, I'm very careful about the weight of anything I put in any of the drawers. No doubt, the shelves could be made a little sturdier, IMHO!

Hey Phil
As you know, we also have a 3000 RK. The only cabinet problems we have had was stripped screws in some of the doors. Shelves seem to be in good shape. We did have the same problem as otto0813 with the drawer under the fridge. I too blamed it on the DW, as it was packed with every cast iron item she had in stock . I haven't repaired it yet, but when I do, you can bet it'll be packed a lot lighter.
Good luck with the repairs.

I have never had a drawer fail in either Monty and only 2 cabinet door problems.
One thing we must take into consideration these drawer bottoms take a beating as the trailer goes bouncing down the hiway. Even the drawers in your stick house wouldn't hold up that well if they were bounced around for a few hundred miles day after day. Load any drawer too heavy and it will eventually come apart. Put it in a 5er and it will come apart sooner.

We bounced all over Canada and Alaska this summer and have not had any problems with any of the cabinets, drawers or doors. I guess they made them better back in '04. :-)

If your unit is still under the first year warranty, the dealer should fix the problems. That is, if he/she is a reputable dealer and wants to stay in business.

The shoe shelf in the front wardrobe fell into the front cap. DW could not find a favorite pair of shoes. Keystone did a nice job of fixing and reinforcing the area after the rally.
