PA & others; Payment Cash?
In checking on PA campgrounds I've noticed many stating Cash or Cash requested for payment. When traveling I wasn't planning on carrying a lot of cash. Thus does this mean the PA parks may not grant the discount if paying with Visa/MC?
I guess I'll find out in a few weeks but if anyone has had any experience please pass it along as our trip begins 5-10 Yellowstone and places West here we come.

We find that many campgrounds, especially small ones, are not set up for credit cards. If we don't pay cash, many will accept a check. However, you have to be a good banker because many of them also don't deposit frequently so you many have a lot of outstanding checks. We don't carry a "lot" of cash but at least enough for one or two nights then we have to find an ATM or better yet, a Wal-Mart where you can get up to $100 back for any purchase you make with your debit/check card.
Happy trails..........................

We do exactly what Sue does... We always make sure we have at least $100.00 tucked away in small bills.

Thanks as this will defintely show my age. I haven't had or used a debit card since they first can out (25 or 30 yrs ago in our area). The times are a changin. I may have to get one from the bank.

As with the other travelers we have come across a C.G or two that is not set up for credit card payments or will not take a out of state check. We also have a "just in case" stash of dollars.. for such occasions..If you always call ahead you can avoid those surprises.

You are correct in assuming no cash, no discount. They have already discounted the rate 50% and don't want to have the CC companies take another bite out of it. It may be inconvenient for us, but I don't blame them.
We don't carry large sums of cash either, but consider $100 or so a small amount of cash. We do the WalMart cash back thing too.
