More Palm Trees, Sea Gulls and Sand......

It's good to be back in South Padre! a little drizzle this morning, but a strong 70 degrees, and Mr. Sun is trying to burn through the thin clouds, people are milling around, Fido is watering the Palms, shorts, T-shirts and smiles. There's a Biscuts and Gravy treat at the Commons-(Club House) but I'm a Sausage and Eggs man myself.
Took some pictures after we pulled in yesterday, haven't put out the rear stabilizer arms, or front Kingpin support.
We went bike riding up the Pier to check out FishBones, the Bar and Restaurant.
Had to scoot over to Dirty Al's and get Fish Tacos and Grilled Shrimp.
Al added to the place, made a new room in front for the ever growing regulars. Al's son started a new place up Padre Blvd called Daddy's, I think. Will check that out.
Here's the Sun, so I'm off to sit in the lawn chair and sip coffee.
Wish you were all here, if you are in the ice, be careful.

Thanks for the sun & surf report Ozz...you should start a column...
Try a little Carolyn's Irish Cream in that coffee unless you're a coffee black kind of guy. You'll never go back.

Up here in the tundra with single digit temps, think I'll try to talk my wife into the Home & Landscape Expo...need to see something green and alive.

We're just up the coast from you Ozz. Been here at Port Mansfield since Wednesday. Very laid back here. Not much entertainment, other than fishing, but that is the way we like it. First time down this way for us. We plan on driving around some when it cools down next week.

DSPI=Destination South Padre Island. It has been bought out by KOA in the last few weeks, don't think they changed the name, or had time to change it.

OZZ, if it wasn't 60 degrees up here in Virginia today, I might be mumbling things under my breath listening to your description of South Padre Island--just like I do when my younger brother down in Austin, Texas calls me whenever he hears about a snowstorm up here--that's when he likes to talk about how he is cooking on the BBQ in his T-shirt and shorts. LOL!!!

Weird feeling thinking that this may be the last January we spend in the colder weather areas for some time. We will start full-timing this August, and will at least be snowbirding even if and when we stop fulltiming in the future. So maybe next year we will join you down there--if we aren't out at Yuma or Havasu. Nice thoughts. HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM.

It snowed in Hemet yesterday for about 3 minutes - didn't stick. We are a snowbird city so I guess the snowbirds were a bit frosty!
Happy trails....................

Judy
We were 20 last night. This is very unusual for us. We have the heat running in the Monty and hope he is okay. One thing about these colder temps, it is not for a long period of time - only a couple of hours between 2 or 3 in the morning. It then warms up pretty fast so we think Monty is okay. It is hard to be fluffy when you are cold. Hope it warms up for you soon.
Happy trails..................

Sue and I pulled out of the high desert early, like Judy, I didn't sign up for that!
We drove as far South as we could go, and not drive into the Gulf of Mexico. It's 75 degrees here, the Sun's shining and the breeze is wonderful, smelling of the Ocean. We just finished eating, I cooked link sausages and eggs over easy on the grill outside, had some waffles and coffee. I'm going to hit the local roads with my bike, while Sue goes across the isle to see what a lady is knitting.
Wish all you shivering folks could be here.
Hang in there.
Ozz and Sue
