Suggestion, someone who is already in the area, check with your campground office and see if there is a meeting room/dining room, etc. One that is FREE!

The example I used before, is Victoria Palms, which is in Donna and is about halfway through the Valley, has their "White House" which is used for just such gatherings. As long as you leave it clean, and are a occupant (for lack of better descriptive word), of the park, you can reserve the room for FREE. It has a bathroom, a couple of different rooms, one room does well for say, 20 to 30, the other room is larger and could hold 50 or more?? both rooms???

NOTE: THIS FILLS UP QUICKLY, it is very popular. You need to get this reserved ASAP. Seeing that Al and I have no idea where we will be staying, when we will get out of here, etc etc etc. we cannot help more than to throw out ideas!

One thing we did that was a lot of fun was to bring a US map and we all marked where we were from. Very interesting!

As said before, God willing and the creek don't rise, we hope to be outta Michigan Mid January, that said, I have a TON of commitments that I must meet, including a couple of presentations, so, I better get my you know what in gear and get writing!

Cheers, Hope to see ya all there by February 1st!!

OK folks, here we come!

We will be heading out early tomorrow to pick up our trailer in Gulf Shores, AL, then head west for Mission, TX. Our reservation is at Bentsen Palm Viilage, starting Jan 29. We will spend a few days in in Gulf Shores, then putter along the Gulf Coast to Mission. We have no reservatins for this last bit, so wish us luck!

Just a quick update,

We are still here in Michigan, licking a few wounds, sick dogs (nothing serious), Al has a cold and feels crummy, I am suffering just a little, his mom has had 2 health situations recently, the weather is NOT cooperating for getting the big Montana out to the paved roads (over 1.5 miles of dirt/gravel roads before we hit pavement)

We hoped to leave this week, now, maybe next week. Then again, we may have to hold here for a while, mostly depending on his mother.

OntMont, have a great trip, wave and blink at all the Montanas on the road!

We're heading that way soon. We'll probably leave Missouri Sunday or Monday. I would love to meet up with everyone but I don't have a laptop so don't know how to get in touch. Any recommendations on a place to stay? I hope we have luck winging it!

We're heading that way and should be in Edinburg, TX around Feb.6th. We will be staying at the Valley Gateway RV Park. Have reservations for two weeks. We have been at Gulf Coast RV Resort in Beaumont for a month and will leave Sat. and spend a week in Victoria. We are looking forward to seeing everyone again. We are still searching for that nice weather.

MEinMO: Ann and I went through a few parks in McAllen/Mission area. You shouldn't have too much trouble finding a place to stay without reservations. When you get to the valley give me a call and I will try to update you on what's happening if you can't get to a computer. 956-631-8212. We are in McAllen.

MEinMO, most public libraries have pc's with internet access you can use. Just be sure to have all your userids and passwords with you. These machines usually are limited to an hour or two at a time but they're one way to do your email and check MOC. This assumes your ISP has email access from a web browser. If not, you might want to get something like a Yahoo email address. In the paid version you also can have it check your other isp for mail and bring it to the browser, You'll need to know the server addresses (like pop3.xxxxx.net or whatever and smtp.xxxxxx.net) along with your userid and password.

John and Marge, we sure wish we knew you were in Beaumont earlier. I am working down in Port Arthur and will be leaving in the morning to head back home. We might stop by on the way out.

Finally got my Wi-Fi to work (sort of). We are in Victoria tonight, Thursday at the Lazy Longhorn, and should get to Mission tomorrow. We will be at Bentsen Palm Village.

We also stayed at Gulf Coast RV park in Beaumont and met up with John and Marge there. Thanks for the recommendation on Lazy Longhorn!

OntMont: John and Donna give us a call when you get in. I think we are going to be around Benston Palms this weekend to meet Eugene at Bluebonnet.
