Loose Ceiling Pannel Joint Molding

Montana 07 3400, What is the best method for reattaching some of the molding that covers the Ceiling seams? In some areas the nails are comming loose. Are the beams metal? I tried with a nail gun and was bending nails. Do I have to nail on one side of the molding and not in the center? I would like it to look cosmetically good after repair. If I use glue what type? and what is the best way to force the glue in between without removing the whole strip. Thanks in advance . Louis

Can't help with what type of glue, but I can tell you that on mine the frame is aluminum so you are probably trying to nail into metal. Another thing to be aware of is that Keystone frequently follows the frame with their wiring (on ours the main harness is in the ceiling) so you have to be careful when you run anything thru right next to the frame.

I have a couple of the strips bowing a little. I plan to drill a hole smaller that the nail next to the existing nail. Then drive a nail in. If you can find picture of the roof truss on the Keystone web site ,you can see the design of the truss. I think an one inch brad would be ok. Bill

I have used liquid nail in a squezze tube as it has a small nozzle and then hold it in place with masking tape until it sets. Hint when you put it between the molding and cieling push the molding up , pull it back a touch and then push it in place and use the tape. Wipe excess. This has worked for me on previous units and is time tested.

I took mine to the dealer and let them do it! And since I have an extended warranty it was covered! (Absolutely NO idea how they did it!)

I seem to recall a post some time ago from some one that replaced those with the prefinished plastic trim pieces from Home Depot. If I recall he put them up with brass screws and it looked pretty good.

We have used silicone. It adheres well but is also easily removed, if necessary.
