Ok! now I am confused. Last time I looked my truck has 4 tires and the monty has 4 tires. Why are we talking about 4,5or6 censors and not 8? are you putting them only on the trailer, not on the truck,or 4 on the trailer and 2 on the truck? WOW MY BRAIN HURTS......

Thanks

David, I have the Pressure Pro system with 10 sensors, 6 for truck and 4 for Monty. Have not placed them on the spares as they are "not on the ground". Some folks say they can tell if they have a flat on their trucks, while this may be true for front tires, I had a flat tire on an inside dually and did not know it until I pulled into a service station for fuel and kicked the tires. Go figure. Hence, TPMS on all tires on the ground....

David,

Got them from tire shop. Just used that link to show style. Take that photo into tire shop and they can find them. Hope this helps.

Hi Bear,

A TV has 4 wheels on the ground, and 6 wheels for a dually. Then if you want to monitor the spare it's 5 or seven sensors. All Montys have 4 wheels, and then there is a spare. Some heavy duty trailers have three axles which adds two more sensors. Some folks only monitor the trailer and spare with will be 4 or 5.

As you can see, one can have up to FOURTEEN sensors on their rig combination with just what I mentioned to cover all wheels and spares.

And if you think about other towed vehicles for RVs, double tows and the numbers of wheels in those combinations, I always thought a system with 16 or even 22 positions was strange until I realized all these possibilities. And now, I hadn't even thought about considering monitoring spare tires for anything. It's an owner's choice how much they want to monitor and that's a lot of possibilities.

Now if someone would just invent an add-on monitor to the system display for temperature and pressure of the navigator!! It could and should prevent many disasters that can arise from the passenger seat. I told DW I posted this and got a Uh huh (with a verrrry sarcastic tone)!! response!! Hee Hee!!

I got the HawksHead system a couple of months ago. Heading out Tuesday, so I will probably install them on the rig tomorrow.

LOL Bear... my brain got a blowout by the knowledge in the MOC long ago. I learned enough to know I can't afford my rig but I'm managing. What do you recommend as a BPMS (Brain Pressure Monitoring System)?

Without a TPMS I have to be very diligent about checking tire pressure for that moment. I even check the first couple of days when set up just to make sure I didn't pick up anything! Having a TPMS would sure make this easier since it checks more often than I ever could. The good news is the competition is bringing the costs down.
