Replacement Table

To continue from my last post...........
Has anyone replaced their factory table with a aftermarket one?
I've remove the screws from the original table but it sure is rickety now. I've never really like the org. table,I've had to take the whole thing apart and glue and screw it back together. The frame was separating from the table top.
Any recommendations out there? I am open to any suggestions. We need someting sturdy and of quality.

My husband is a wood worker and he made a new one for us out of solid oak with a leaf. The trick was matching the stain to the rest of the wood in the Montana. After 3 stain purchases we got it! We have a 2005 2955 with the med. oak color. Not sure if that would be an option for you.

Jack-- Your next time out use the table as kindling for your campfire and start doing nothing but liquid meals!

Kindling is one option and was almost how my coffee table ended up last winter in Georgia. I slid it back with my knee and it folded up like a cheap suit. I tossed it onto the cold bonfire for the next night but the next morning I remembered that I had a bottle of Gorilla Glue. I looked at the way the table was assembled and discovered that they used screws just long enough to go through the pocket holes and 1/4 inch into END GRAIN. I went to Lowes but the had no pocket screws so I just bought much longer wood screws and used tiny washers on the screws so they worked just like the pocket screws and went a full inch into the end grain plus a good coat of Gorilla Glue and the only way that table is coming apart now is in the fire So if your table is wiggly try better screws and a liberal coating of the Gorilla... We ripped out our dinette so there was no free standing table to use. Bought one from K-Mart came with four chairs.

Dave,thats exactly what I did with the dinning table. Longer screws and a lot of gorilla glue.
Table now is twice as heavy but won't come apart.
I like nonecks idea,my problem is if I lean on the table,it leans back.With four legs it might be more solid and it looks lighter too.

I have to say I like the looks of that table from K Mart. Great idea. Love the pics of it actually in the Monty!

When we got our Monty, someone had removed all of the furniture before hand. That required us to look for new furniture. We went to Wally World and bought a table & four chairs like what noneck did. We like it just fine. When we are traveling we just simply cover the chairs with blankets or use cushions to make sure that the wood doesn't bounce and leave scratches on the chairs or table. It is free standing and works just fine. When the slides are in it is very compact. To actually us it in our set up we have to move it out into the floor area. We actually don't use it that often but it is nice when we want it.
