"Google Sky"

Most of us know about Google Earth and all the interesting things that can be seen using that web site. There is also a a Google sky which I discovered and I wasn’t aware of it. It allows you to view the heavens from the satellites.

Cool, now if only they could tweak it a little so we could look at future camping sites on other worlds. It would greatly help in planning future vacations!! Wouldn't need much of a truck, since the rig would be weightless for most of the trip!!

That is really a great site.
Have always been fascinated with such. Beyond my little brain's ability to comprehend the universe. Billions and billions of stars. Can't believe we could be the only intelligent life out there.
And does the universe have an end?? And if so, what is beyond the end???
OUCH! That hurt by brain again.

There is one place which I believe is in the constellation of Virgo which appears to have been blacked out. You can see it whenever you click on the infrared. What could there possibly be out in space they are trying to hide from us?

You can find it quickly by clicking on the historical map and then following the center line to what looks like the constellation of an angel then click on the infrared.

There is another cool app called sky view, it uses your phone camera and shows you stars, (constellations) planets and the space station. weather above or below the horizon.

Well if they ever come up with "Google Outhouse", I'm ignoring it.

The computer application "Google Earth" has menu's that will take you to "Google Sky."

On the MAC it is "View, Explore, Sky," there is also Earth, Mars and Moon.

Check some of the other menu pull downs.

Sorry, I thought everyone played with the applications on their computer. Hee hee!

p.s., in the link Bill provided, you don't need the AU, just the www.google.com/sky
