Pull out Pantry Modification
Hi Folks,
I have been thinking about doing this for almost 3 year. You know the pantry next to the Frig if you don't have the 4 door Firg. You can't get anything in there, and it all falls over.
Here is the before on 3 inch wide:
Here is my mod, 5 1/2 inches wide now, and no more wire racks:
If you would like to see pictures of the construction, let me know.

We just got our unit and I was thinking of doing something on the same line. I was thinking of using plexiglass. And then silicone the bottom to the sides and so forth. Once I got my patterns cut out it would be pretty simple.

Dennis,
I used two 24" x 36" .20 Aluminum Sheets I got at Lowe's.
Cut 14" x 19.75" piece and bend about 1.25" over on itself. I stick it between the boards in my workbench to start the bend, then use a mallet to finish it. This makes it stronger and makes sure there are no sharp edges.
Here is am starting the first bend. You can see the 1.25" bent 180 degrees, and hammered flat with mallet.
Once you have the first bend done, I use some 2x6's as my template, to make a U shape.
Clamp the U shape trey to the basket with front side cut off, and pound the metal over the top of the trey.
This one was bit to long, 14" will give you a better result. I later went back and cut some down on this.
I went back and put a bent over piece like first step on the ends too, so don't have any sharp edges.
