Dually tire balancing?
Talking to another camper and the subject of balancing came up and he said that when got a set of new tires at a truck center, they never balance the tires because one tire would work against the other.Could any of the tire guys out there shed some light on this(this is for duallys only)

I asked my tire guy and he chuckled. He reminded me that with today's spin-balancing tire balance is the most accurate it has ever been. Single or dually, truck or trailer, get your tires balanced and have them rebalanced periodically as recommended by the dealer.

I just had my dually tires rotated down here in AZ for the trip back to MI. and they spin-balanced my tires that they moved just to make sure they were still in balance. I had some wear on of the front tires that they moved to the left rear and moved the left rear ties to the front.

Agreed! Why would that 'tire guy' say something like that. Sounds like he just didn't want to take the time. Always get tires balanced!

It seems to me if you DIDN'T balance the rear tires that's when they would work against each other.

We use the self balancing beads which are the same procedure for tire balncing as on the big rigs, About 6 oz per tire on our dually.
We even installed the beads in our Monty tires. Always runs smooth and never have to rebalance for the life of the tire. Supplied by Counteract or www.counteractbalancing.com

I've heard good things about the beads. Just don't use any of that fix-a-flat stuff though!

We always balance ours. But I have been looking into this product, acts the same as the beads, just don't have to break the tires down. I have a buddy that has them on his Ford F-350 and he swears by them.

http://balancemasters.com/. Is another good system. I have used them on the dually and trailer for 9 years.

Rims are not perfect and tires are not perfect,. so you have to balance for the imperfections. I have no clue as to what the beads would cost for six tires, so I get my tires rotated and balanced for nothing at the national tire store that I purchased my tires from.

I'll agree with others and say your tire guy is feeding you a line of BS. They need to be balanced.
The Centra-Matic balancers, and the beads both work very well. I run the beads in mine because they are much cheaper than the Centra-Matics and work just as well.
