Our new used 3670RL

Well we finally moved up to Montana! We have been camping for years with various campers to include several travel trailers and a fifth wheel. We purchased a 2001 3670RL from Tom Raper's RV while we were on vacation. We also had a 16K Superglide installed in our 2005 GMC CC/SB. We immediately towed it over 500 miles to get it back to Delaware. Other than a few small issues, it seems to be a fantastic unit. I have been looking at some of the modifications that other members have made and we are planning some changes already. In fact we have already added switches in the bathroom for the fan and light, changed the kitchen faucet to the extendable hose style, and are in the process of adding plexi to the screen door. So far the site has been a wealth of information.

We do have a question though, does anybody know anything about this particular Montana? It has two seperate murals of lighthouses painted on the slide. It was apparently owned by a couple in or around Kentucky. Any info would be appreciated.

Welcome Rescue 1 to the MOC Family.

You do have a great rig in that 3670 and the murals are beautiful. The previous owners were not only into lighthouses but golf as well. Noticed the green on the one mural, who else but a avid golfer would have a green incorporated into a lighthouse mural.

Welcome and congrats on the coach. The murals are very nice. Debbie and I enjoy visiting lighthouses and collect replicas of the ones we have visited/seen.

Welcome to the forum. Welcome to the ranks of 3670 RL owners. We enjoy the openness of this floor plan. As seen in my signature, ours is the Big Sky unit and a 2003. I have had less to deal with in the Monty than I did on the stick house before I sold it to go fulltime. I replaced a leaking faucet in the shower, tightened some lines in the shower access panel that had loosened over time, replaced the front landing gearbox and motor under warranty, patched a small tear in the roofing material because I ran under a limb, and went through the learning curve of proper sequence for setting up and taking down. The rest has been enjoyment of our wheeled estate.

The unit was parked for a year while we are in Hong Kong. On furlough, we opened it up, turned everything on, and all was as it should be. I have been accumulating a list of modifications I will address when we return to fulltiming, not because I "need" to do them, but because I choose to do them.

I like your murial. I think it was a special because I haven't seen another like it. Sure hope you like yours as much as we enjoy ours.

We have the 3670 as well and we love it! Since they don't make it anymore, it makes it even more special. I know you will enjoy your unit as much as we do!

Welcome Rescue 1! You might ask the dealer if he would ask the previous owner to contact you? I'm sure the dealer wouldn't give out their information (I know I wouldn't want them to mine) but they may work it the other way around and give them the opportunity to contact you ???

Thanks to all for the welcome! We have actually enjoyed just sitting in our 3670 watching the fireplace. Funny thing is that we looked at several 5'ers before with fireplaces and always said why would you want a fireplace in a camper? Guess we know why now. We plan on using it as much as we can. Now if I could just get more time off from work to go...

Beautiful murals! We'll be watching for your rig on the road.

See another Montana or Mountaineer on the road? Flash lights twice, it might be one of us!

Rescue 1,
I am envious of you with the lighthouse murals. They are beautiful. That's our favorite passion when traveling. Looking up lighthouses.
I took pictures of everyone except 2 in Nova Scotia.
Enjoy your Monty. Our's was new to us in March, it's 35' 3 slides and we love it. Planning a trip to VT and NY Labor Day.

Thanks again for all the compliments on the murals. We're talking about taking a quick trip this weekend to Chincoteague Island in Virginia. We have been on Assateague Island many times before but we haven't taken the footpath to the Assateague lighthouse yet. Maybe this weekend.

We loved Chincoteague and Assateague. Don't forget to climb to the top of the Assateague Lighthouse. Just make sure you're in shape ... it's 198 steps to the very top! I could only make it 193 steps.

Oops ... almost forgot ... WELCOME TO THE MOC!!!

Chincoteague Island and the Assteague is a must place to see if you live near or far. We travel from the Smith Mountain Lake Area often. At least once a year. Due for a trip to Hatteris. Tom's Cove Campground nice place to camp.
