Break in the skin

During this past winter, my 2002 Montana suffered a 14" crack in the fiberglass(?)plastic(?) skin next to the front compartment under the front bedroom. Something must have hit it pretty hard to cause the break. It had been stored at the time.
Anyway, I have an estimate of just under $1,000 to replace that section of skin. Can this skin be repaired, and if so, how?

Thanks for any help
