Its official!

The "new" 2007 Silverado and Sierra will have a built in trailer brake on the 2500HD and 3500HD. =) Thought I would pass this on....

Tara,
Sorry! Maybe Steve won't see this thread. =)

Sue,
There is no new truck coming to this garage, only have 11 more months and my truck is paid for!! I was just reading some information from GM on what the new features for the 2500HD and 3500HD were going to be. You know me, I love to get my hands on as much info as possible when it comes to GM and the Duramax.

Also for those folks who have not seen interior pictures of the new Silverado and Sierra, you can go and look at any current 2007 Tahoe or Yukon. They have the exact same interior.

Great to see the General offering a built in brake controller and I hope DC follows suit.

I followed a new Chev with the new tow mirrors. Look a lot like the Ford mirrors that have been out since 98. Only took GMC 3 years to get the IBC so they are getting a lot better at keeping up with Ford's ideas. ( wink )

Dave: Here is some more news about the new GM trucks. They are going to rack & pinion steering and going to the Ford suspension. Hope Steves doesn't read this.

My new 07 does not have the brake controller. The first of the year the "new" 07 will be in the showrooms with all the emmision stuff. I would not want to be one of the new owners of the "new" 07.

Keeping up with the other guy is something they all do,,IE; Coachman Wyoming. We are watching and listening with interest at the 07 model year with all the new emmissions , motors and fuels. We hope that all the "things" we have been told at the various diesel seminars we have attended will not come about.

Montana,

I was also told they would have onboard GPS available, still all of that wasn't worth getting one with all the new emissions, at least for me. That's why I pulled the trigger on the 07 Classic, speaking of which, where is that truck?

We don't have the brake controller because we have 07 "Classics." I for one, am glad to have a 'classic' and I ordered one so I would not have a new one. The big three (all of them) do not have good track records when it comes to new models/engines/transmissions/features/etc.

Mac,
I can tell you that the new navigation system rocks! My father bought a new 2007 Tahoe back in March and it is one sweet ride!!! The nav system would have come in handy a few times while I was on my last road trip, especially after seeing TumTum in action in Bill and Helens(adelmoll) truck. I would be more nervous about buying a new ULSD motor from any of the top 3 because of the lack of available fuel at the current time more than anything else.

Bill,
I was not aware of the steering and suspension change. Thanks for the heads up...

Sky,

I know, that was one of the things that had me so excited, I'll have to look into an after market one. Normally as long as I have my co-pilot along I do pretty well, and I'd kind of miss not being able to blame her if we get lost!

Dave,
Rumor is yes, the 2500HD and the 3500HD will now have larger GVWR's. Again, I only have this info as "rumor". =)
