Input please!

DW and I are looking at a new 2011 3400RL Hickory Edition, with the "Blackthorn" interior. As seen in our signature, we currently have a 2007 3400RL. For those of you who have a 3400RL Hickory Edition, any pluses or minuses? Any thoughts? I see that the 2011 had a couple of midyear changes. One is installing pendant lights over the kitchen counter, a major plus for DW. For me, FINALLY moving the thermostat to the steps area into the bedroom is a big plus, as that is where the best air movement/sensing would take place (I know Ozz would know all about that). Of course, there is the remote control too. And, apparently the rear stabilizers are also electric??? How do they work for others? So, any thoughts, comments, suggestions, etc? Thank you all. GO MOC!!!!

We upgraded from an 07 3075 to and early 2011 3400rl Hickory and love it.

Lots more room and the sinks are good size. Ours has the electric rear stabalizers and the only complaint I have is they are slow to extend and retact.

We have had only a couple of small warranty issues. If your will have the Goodyear Marathon tires I would see if you could upgrade immmediatly to the G614s. One of our Marathons had a blowout at 1400 miles so we upgraded all four.

We have the four door fridge and it is a big improvemnet over the 2 door.

We have added a MorRyde pull out tray to the baseent and find it really makes getting to the stuff stored in the middle much easier.

It seems that they learn so much from past models, I guess that is why we trade up. Sounds like you have a good one picked out. Good luck with it.

I am interested in all that gadgetry when we head out in May for the maiden voyage. Starting to get the itch to go camping after all this wonderful weather (rain, rain and more rain)

Terry and Patsy -

Ozz said it best when he said they continue to learn and improve - which causes us to move up. We had a 2005 3400 and are starting our third season with our 2010 365RLQ Big Sky. We have enjoyed the upgrades immensely, including the pendant lights. The new ones I believe will come with the Goodyear G rated tires and the wet bolts. Some of the improvements aren't seen, but are very important for the longtime enjoyment of the unit. Good luck.

I prefer the thermostat in the old location - monitors the temp in the living area, also there is a sending unit in the bedroom that monitors the temp in the bedroom, with the thermostat on the stairwell I feel you lose some control of the zones.
