Toe Surgery UPDATE

I know, it's just a toe, but it's my toe. Podiatrist will cut the large bone and take a slice out of it making it shorter thereby increasing the joint space and attach a teflon cap to make movement smoother. Has been increasingly more difficult to walk when the big toe doesn't bend. I had the other foot done in Alaska before we went on the road and it has been great since then. Hopefully this will do the same for the right.....Surgery date is 7 Jul. I ask that you pray for a speedy and comfortable recovery. Thanks everyone!!!!Phil

UPDATE: Surgery went well and at home now for recovery. Thank God for good drugs. At least I can still walk, that's a good thing. Thanks to everyone for their well wishes.....Phil

We need those toes! Every member is an important one and when one hurts our whole body knows it. Will pray for a speedy and comfortable recovery.

Being bipedal has it's challenges at times, always best to have all the piggies working as designed. Good luck to you sir.
We are sending many MOC best wishes and good vibrations your way.
May the best looking nurse on the hospital tell you how handsome you are

It will be easier now for you to insert foot in mouth.

Good luck the day after my birthday, and prayers coming your way for a speedy recovery.

Hey Phil,

My take is that every time you walk the big toes go first and lead the way for the rest of the body parts. Seeing as how you've already done this with one side and achieved enough comfort to want to even things up for the other side, you can't beat that. Best of luck this time around too, and I pray for the same success to put this behind you. I guess this is part of putting your best foot (feet) forward. Getting rid of any pain is such a relief and something that deserves to be past tense.

Prayers to you!

Art, you are absolutely right about getting rid of the pain. My back may be next. That was part of the reason for settling back down somewhere. Hard to get continuity of care while on the road. Thanks to everyone for their prayers and thoughts...
