Pullrite Hitch

I had a B&W hitch when changing trucks went to long bed and Pullrite hitch. since making the change, have had an issue with trailer slips back on takeoff and forward on braking. Making a rather loud noise. Pullrite did some modifications to reduce slack and recommended not using Teflon plate but graphite spray (lubriplate) - some minor improvement but still very noticeable.

Next step is checking with MorRyde on MIN/MAX diameter of king pin.

Anyone else having this issue? Suggestions?

Which Pullrite hitch did you go with. If it's the auto slider, then mine has a bolt on the front that you tighten down to take the slack out of the system.

The noise you hear may be at the point where the hitch attaches to the truck. With the oem puck system, if not properly adjusted and tight you can experience this movement and noise, not actually forward and reverse movement but rather a rocking up and down. Previous truck was in bed rail mount, new truck is oem puck, had to use an adapter with old hitch, never could get adjusted properly, then finally upgraded to 25K pullrite with oem pucks. Pullrite in my opinion has the best and most secure capture method of all hitches on the market.

This is the single point mount (non-slider) - holds on to the goose neck ball - it's tight!

I like the capture system except for this movement. At the rally Pullrite changed the center section of the rotating piece which tightened it up but not enough.

I had a Pullrite Super 5th years ago and it did not make that noise at all. Can't see any reason the lube plate would cause that. If the pin fits tight in the hitch the lube plate should not matter unless it is not letting the hitch jaw close properly. And if the hitch is tight to the truck, then my guess would be the pin diameter is not correct for the hitch.

Stand beside your truck while someone else pulls it forward and backs up and watch to see if you can tell where the movement actually is.
