surgeguard installed
installed a 50 amp surgeguard today. all is well. very easy.
on a side note, the more i look around the more things that make me go hhhmmm.
i really checked the workmanship behind the storage compartment wall.
in a word, horrible. i fixed a lot of stuff today. i really feel sorry for the people who can't get in there and correct bad situations. loose wires, wires stretched around sharp metal corners and water line not tight just to mention a few. the plumbing, wiring and heating systems are installed to an open frame (i believe ). and if this is true it looks like each person gets a wire and goes and attaches it . over this, under that, around that to go over this. then they weave the water lines through all the jumble of wires. i should have taken pictures.
ok i feel better now, thanks for listening.

No pictures necessary - We've seen it. I just don't look in those places anymore unless I see stuff leaking out under the door!
Which suprressor did you get? permanent mount? in-line?

I removed the incoming 50 amp wire from the circuit breaker panel located next to the entrance door and extended it to the front compartment. I mounted and hard wired in the surgeguard and ran a 50 amp wire back to the breaker panel. Nice, neat install and the surgeguard is out of sight.

Would like to open under the refrigerator and stove for extra storage. Question??? How easy is it to knock out those and where can you get the cabinet doors that you used on yours?

We were forewarned by folks on this forum even before we brought the 3400 home about that wiring mess and it was one of the first things we did. It was a "throat clutcher".

Ronnelly if your asking me, ours came with the big drawer under the refrigerator. i think most of the panels would come out fairly easy. it seem most are a thin panel with a frame and a few screws holding it in place.
