If you are looking at a 2006 model, they should come way off the price...over 30%. The 2007s are here and they too are being marked way down.

Bluegill,

The largest RV dealer in Texas is FuntimeRV in Cleburne, TX - www.funtimerv.com. They are also one of the largest Montana dealers in the US. Montana knows them very well. We ordered our unit on Oct 23 of last year. David, our sales guy, called Montana and had them change the specifications of a "spec" unit they were building for FunTime to meet our specifications. The result was that we took position of our "build to order" 3400 on Nov. 11! And, at a 30+% discount.

Keystone/Montana claims to have the same OEM pricing for all dealers, but they do provide volume discount pricing based upon how many units are ordered at a time, or within a specified timeframe. FunTime RV GETS those discounts. When they provide a 30%+ disount off list - and they will - they are still making more than the regular Montana dealer.

Contact David Kidd at 866-783-8666. He, his brother and father pretty much own the business. Give him a call if you are willing to travel up close to Fort Worth. Also check out their web site.

I agree with all who have purchased a Monty from Tacoma RV...Great service. The service manager (Ed) is very knowledgeable and easy to work with regarding any problems. They also have a good accessory store.

Thanks for the added vote of confidence regarding Tacoma RV.
If I were still in Texas right now then Funtime RV sounds like a good choice.
I need to try and keep my options open of course if I plan on getting the
best deal possible, but at the same time if I travel too far and
leave work for an extended period of time it becomes a wash on the price.

Thanks again to everyone.

Bluegill,
If you are willing to come all the way up to Washington, we have a great dealership here in Spokane. I have bought 2 Montana's from them, and both times they beat Tacoma RV's price. Just thought I would throw that out there for you.

Hey Dave, I am in Washington right now. In Bellingham. Thats why I was considering going to Tacoma, 2 hour drive from here. Spokane is not out of the equation either. :-)

Blue,
I will send you a PM for my dealership over here. Spokane is not that far of a drive from the Seattle area. (less that 5 hours). We have a few MOC members that have bought from them, and yes you are welcome to hang w/ me.

I'm glad I read all of this topic. We have not purchased our Monty yet, as we are building a garage to store it in first. If everything goes well, we could be looking to buy in the next 6 months. So far we have only looked at Foley's since they are close to us. I had notice the last time we drove by there were no Montana's on the lot. Thanks to this topic, we will be checking out Tacoma RV and the dealer in Spokane when we get serious about buying. We have been members of this board for about a year, but this is only the second time I have posted. We have read a lot of good information this past year. Thank you for such a wonder site.

Welcome aboard, Carol. We all like to hear about folks getting their first (or any) Montana so be sure to let us know how it goes. It's nice to have a place like this to get answers, huh.

See another Montana or Mountaineer on the road? Flash lights twice, it might be one of us!

16 or even 20% is funny.

I got 32% and most I have talked to got 30 plus for their units.

My price was out the door, hooked up.

They set the unit up in a KOA next door and they walked my through it, answered questions and left me alone for the night. The next morning they were back to answer more questions and repeat things I couldn't remember. Later they helped me hook up, set up, and hook up again. No charge.

We bought our unit at the subject line dealership two years ago. We got an EXCELLENT price, excellent support, "free" walk-through, etc, etc.

From the posts, it sounds like the ownership has changed, though. What I'm wondering, though, has the overall direction changed that much, or was there one "bad" salesman?? Has anyone let the sales manager know why they are looking elsewhere because of their prices or policies? Did anyone make a counter-offer (say 25-30% off with the walkthru included)?

I'm hoping that this dealership is successful, as it is in a great location for people in north puget sound, for both sales and service. Sometimes direct feedback is the best way to insure that.

We picked up our '07 Mountaineer 342PHT last Saturday from Tacoma RV. LaDonna's price was lowest of all, including Blue Crick. I talked to dealerships in WA, OR, and ID and Tacoma RV gave me the best deal.

The walk through was incredibly throrough and well organized. We have been very impressed with Tacoma RV so far.

Cheri,
Congratulations on your new purchase!
Tacoma RV and LaDonna were great to us too. We web researched prices for 2 years throughout the US. I was real surprised when we found them in our own back yard. We have had no negative issues from serive. They have been very responsive with answers.

Enjoy,

Robbie

Well, I'm still getting my ducks in a row before going back with a counter offer and negotiating a price. The salesman knows I'm looking else where because I told him I found a better deal on line. He told me to bring in the paper work and he will beat their price. I really don’t believe he is a bad salesman... per-say... He would really be a good salesman if he could pull the deal off and take as much money from me as possible. Kudos to him if he did. Thanks to the forum and all of the knowledge that is here... I won’t be "The Next Guy" for him that he will make a killing off of. I am currently talking to someone @ Tacoma RV to see what they have to offer.
Stay tuned.
